Clark Economics is operated by Richard Clark. This privacy policy explains what personal information I collect through this website, why I collect it and how it is used and protected.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Richard Clark is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

  • Enquire about or receive economics tuition

  • The student’s name and year group

  • The student’s examination board

  • Information about the tuition or support being sought

Please avoid including medical information or other sensitive personal information in the initial contact form. If information of this kind later becomes relevant to the provision of tuition, I will only use it where necessary and with appropriate consent or another lawful basis.

The website may also collect limited technical information about visits to the site, such as:

This information is collected through Squarespace Analytics and Google Analytics and is used to understand how visitors use the website.

I do not sell personal information to third parties.

You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect any use of personal information that took place before it was withdrawn.

Information about students

Most students receiving A-level tuition are under the age of 18. Information about a student may be provided by the student, a parent or guardian, or another person making an enquiry on the student’s behalf.

I will only collect information that is reasonably necessary to discuss, arrange and provide tuition. Where appropriate, I may communicate with both the student and their parent or guardian.

This website uses cookies and similar technologies.

Some cookies are essential for the website to function properly. These may be used for purposes such as website security, navigation and remembering a visitor’s cookie preferences.

How long I keep information

I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed.

As a general rule:

  • Enquiries that do not lead to tuition may be retained for up to 12 months after the last communication

  • Routine tuition correspondence and lesson administration records may be retained while tuition continues and for a reasonable period afterwards

  • Financial, invoicing and accounting records may be retained for up to six years, or for any longer period required by law

  • Information may be retained for longer where this is necessary to deal with a complaint, legal claim or safeguarding concern

  • Analytics information is retained according to the settings and retention periods used by Squarespace and Google Analytics

Information that is no longer needed will be securely deleted or anonymised.

How I protect personal information

I take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.

However, no website, email service or method of transmitting information over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please do not send highly sensitive information through the website contact form.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you

  • Ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete information

  • Ask me to delete personal information

  • Ask me to restrict how information is used

  • Object to certain uses of personal information
