Economics made easier to understand

Students learn economics best when they understand why things happen.

Rather than simply memorising diagrams and definitions, I use current affairs and real-world examples to explain topics such as inflation, unemployment, exchange rates, market failure, taxation, economic growth and government policy.

I also work with students on applying that understanding in exams: interpreting unfamiliar information, constructing clear arguments and evaluating different points of view.

The aim is not only to improve results. It is to give students the understanding and confidence they need to tackle unfamiliar questions.

A-level economics tuition for local students

I offer one-to-one tuition for Year 12 and Year 13 students studying AQA or Edexcel economics.

Lessons can be arranged regularly throughout the school year or occasionally when a student needs extra help with a particular topic, essay technique, revision or exam preparation.

Tuition may be suitable for students who are:

  • struggling with difficult topics

  • lacking confidence in class

  • catching up after missed lessons

  • aiming to improve essay and evaluation skills

  • preparing for mock or final examinations

Face-to-face tuition is available in the Marlborough area. Online lessons are available across Wiltshire and the rest of the UK.
